Architecture: Services

Vincent and Gorbing offers a wide range of services to suit a client’s needs. In addition to architectural design, we also undertake commission for interior design, urban design, project management, principal designer and BIM services.

Architecture

Vincent and Gorbing prides itself in providing a high quality, RIBA chartered architectural service, work stage 0-7 inclusive. All projects undergo a thorough design and technical review to ensure the proposal meets the highest possible standards. These reviews consider concept design proposals, technical compliance, statutory requirements, health and safety, and environmental and ecological aspects that will have an impact on the overall design proposal. We are acutely aware of best value and work tirelessly to ensure the design proposals meet with client expectations. These rigorous procedures have resulted in many appreciative letters from clients, supported by repeat business and an extensive range of regional and national architectural awards.

Interior Design

Vincent and Gorbing offer a full interior design service covering all architectural sectors. Our interior design department works closely with our architectural colleagues to ensure a fully coordinated service. We specialise in high quality interior design for new build and refurbishment projects, from space planning through to fabric selection. We are also able to advise and coordinate furniture design for office, restaurant and leisure interiors. We have established a comprehensive network of suppliers and we are able to assemble professionals who can successfully meet our client’s requirements.

Project Management

Vincent and Gorbing offer a project management service tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of commercial and public-sector clients. The practice has a highly experienced team of architects and technologists that are familiar with managing teams of consultants at the design development stage and main contractors throughout the tender and construction phase of the project. The project management team are well versed in the pros and cons of the two main forms of building contract, Standard Form and Design and Build. Our team is well placed to advise the client on the most appropriate form of contract for their project.

Principal Designer (CDM Regulations)

In 2015 the CDM regulations were changed and only designers, including architects, can now offer this mandatory service. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure their project has a Principal Designer who is appointed at the start of the project. Our practice can perform the Principal Designer role with support from a specialist CDM Advisor, but we are equally happy to work alongside a specialist PD appointed by the client.

Urban Design

With expertise in urban design, town planning and architecture, Vincent and Gorbing is well placed to give specialist advice on all aspects of master planning and setting within the urban environment. Our in-house urban design team can offer design solutions to meet individual client aspirations and satisfy Local Authority requirements. The careful and skilful interface of urban design and amenity space aspirations is essential if the project is to maintain clear design objectives.

BIM

BIM (Building Information Modelling) is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure. BIM focuses on the flow and control of electronic information between disciplines to improve coordination of the design process, reduce on-site issues and subsequently mitigate the programme delays that might ensue.

As a practice, we are able to work using Building Information Modelling (BIM) software. Throughout the design process we employ various 3D modelling and visualising software packages, some of which can produce photo-realistic images in conjunction with the building model being developed in AutoDesk Revit. This strategy allows us to produce collaborative information in an Industry Foundation Class (IFC) format which can be used by many forms of software and meets the requirements of the relevant legislation within ISO-19650.
