High View, Hatfield

Vincent and Gorbing supported Vocalism to provide planning advice and public engagement services in relation to a full planning application for the regeneration of the Hill-Top Neighbourhood Centre, South Hatfield. The scheme is being delivered jointly by Lovell Partnerships Ltd and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.

The scheme comprised the redevelopment of a 1950s shopping parade and area of public realm to provide a mixed-use development for 146 new flats and houses, including 25% affordable; 18 new retail units; a doctor’s surgery; children’s play area; and a new Church Square for the existing Grade II listed church.

The application was approved by the Development Management Committee of Welwyn Hatfield Council. This is the result of detailed negotiations with a number of statutory consultees and local stakeholders, as well as a comprehensive programme of public consultation events.
