Alleyn’s is one of the country’s leading HMC co-educational day schools with a history in the Dulwich area of south London stretching back 400 years. Vincent + Gorbing has been providing planning consultancy services to the School since 2005 when we successfully appealed a refusal by Southwark Council of a new Performing Arts Centre located partially on Metropolitan Open Land (MOL). As well as MOL, the School site is also partially within Dulwich Village Conservation Area and has playing fields designated for their nature conservation interest.
Since 2005, we have we have secured numerous permissions for a wide range of new facilities including a Lower School building, swimming pool, several all-weather pitches and floodlights, and, most recently, a building to allow for an expansion of the Junior School. Working with the School’s designers, ArchitecturePLB, the new Junior School building comprises a hall and support accommodation, expanding the infant and reception years to two forms of entry, and allowing improvements to the school’s facilities.
