Vincent and Gorbing was appointed by Trenport Investments, when it acquired the land in 2005, to promote proposals for a mixed use strategic scale development at North East Sittingbourne, including a large employment area.
The site was promoted through the Local Plan and planning permission was achieved (ahead of Local Plan adoption) in January 2014, with a revised permission being given in November 2016. The proposals are for a mixed employment use business area of 12.54ha, known as Eurolink V (or Eurolink East Five) with up to 46,600sqm of floorspace. The proposals represent a further phase of the successful Eurolink Business Park which is Sittingbourne’s main employment area and one of the largest employment areas in Kent.
Our role has included promoting the site through a number of Local Plan reviews, including presenting evidence at public inquiry and examination; co-ordinating technical studies and an Environmental Impact Assessment; and preparing a planning application and supporting documents; achieving outline planning permission and discharging reserved matters and planning conditions. Work commenced on site on the main access and infrastructure in 2017 with construction of development plots proceeding thereafter.
