We have been working with our long-standing client, the Hertfordshire Constabulary, on the master-plan of their site in Welwyn Garden City.
The new proposals will be implemented over the next 10 years and over three phases. The first major phase of the programme will see the completion of a new 10,000 sq.m. office building allowing the Constabulary to adopt modern methods of working in a contemporary, inspiring environment. Two office plates, accommodating open office space, gym, restaurant and office facilities are joined centrally with a four storey atrium topped by a glulam timber structure roof. The atrium accommodates the entrance, further meeting rooms and open agile working space.
The overall building is situated within a sensitively designed landscape – outlook on all sides – to enhance staff well-being and promote biodiversity and sustainable forms of drainage. The completion of the master-plan will deliver a high quality design befitting of one of the country’s leading Constabularies.
