Vincent + Gorbing is pleased to announce that on the 2 March 2021 Stevenage Borough Council unanimously resolved to grant planning permission for the comprehensive re-development of The Saint John Henry Newman School, Stevenage. The re-development incudes the demolition of several of the existing buildings which have become outdated and unsustainable; the erection of two new teaching blocks and the creation of a landscaped amenity square to the site’s frontage. The re-development will create a strong, civic presence fronting onto Hitchin Road with a three-storey teaching block providing vastly improved space for learning and teaching. There will be an overall increase in amenity provision and landscaping, ensuring that local biodiversity is enhanced and that students have plenty of access to high quality, natural outdoor space.
