Vincent and Gorbing first identified the residential potential of a series of former chalk quarries and cement works in the Medway Valley in North Kent, including at Peters Village, in the 1980s and 1990s. Working through the Local Plan process and subsequent planning applications, we have achieved consent for some 2,500 new homes on these brownfield sites.
Peters Village is a new community of over 1000 new homes. The scheme includes a new primary school, community centre, playing fields and riverside esplanade together with a new road bridge across the River Medway. It lies adjoining a Site of Special Scientific Interest and the North Downs AONB.
Our role has included co-ordination of the Environmental Impact Assessment, achieving outline planning permission and making a series of detailed applications for infrastructure and initial phases of development. The new river crossing was opened in September 2016 and the client is in the process of disposing of serviced plots of between 50 and 200 units with the first phase being developed by Bellway Homes.
